A poem penned
by Prakruthi N. Banwasi Chalks what Yogita Madhu and he believe.
They
carved the first ever South India Trail across 33 major cities covering
5133.9 kms in 12 days on a Fiero. H. T. Sangliana, The
Commissioner of Police, flagged off this event on March 6,
2002.
Yogita
essayed the role of a navigator to perfection, including placing
complete trust in the riding capabilities of Prakruthi. Again the
Fiero’s unbeatable combination of ‘Power & Mileage’ made it
possible.
The
bikers gave 33 press conferences (organized by the TVS team) to pass a
vital message about Road Safety.
GIVE THIS
A THOUGHT… The bikers asserted everywhere :
It
is possible to ride/drive fast and yet be safe, be it 90/100 or even
110 kms/hr. Yet we can still ride rash at lower speeds
of 20/30 km/hr.
Traffic violations lead to accidents, grievous
injuries and fatalities.
The educated public cause most of these traffic
violations.
Yogita
recalled, “It was heady to run the west coast for a few days and then
touch the southern tip (Kanniyakumari) and then blaze to Vizag on the
east coast. We connected Vizag to Goa in two days, returning to the
centre of South India… Bangalore… home…. and the centre of the world for
us!”
As
Prakruthi sums it up, “The Karnataka Trail’ (3181.2 kms in 4.5 days) had
set the pace for this adventure. We are glad that TVS believed in our
abilities, the management and the Racing Team worked out all the details
with us. We owe Murthy and Praneeth of Zen Motors our every success for
nourishing the drive in us and other biking enthusiasts. Training for
years under Santosh of Figurine Fitness ensured that I was physically
and mentally prepared for this grueling ride.”
